Hi everyone,
I’m taking a brief hiatus, including another reduced issue this week. I’ll definitely be back by March 28th, with the March 21st issue TBD.
Hope y’all stay well.
In the meantime, here’s a March Madness group for Reccs readers — please join!

I had tens of thousands of American Airlines miles that were going to expire this summer and I had no intention to use them.
That’s when I learned that most airlines reset the expiration date when you earn any miles. And so I logged into American Airlines’ shopping portal and bought an item I needed anyways. The measly 100 miles I earned reset my clock and now none of my AA miles will expire for another 18 months.
If you’re hesitant to jump on a plane but have a balance of miles, don’t let them go to waste! Here’s a whole list of airline shopping portals*. Alternatively, just look for another easy way to get a few miles (i.e. if you have an airline’s credit card you can always just charge something small to it). But make sure to confirm the expiration date was extended afterwards!
