Hi friends,
Had something of an off-week this week. Please excuse the bare links.
The Weekend Reccs
GRRM on Winds of Winter: coming soon. I am a sucker because I always believe him.
The Zone of Death. (s/o Ata Baltaci)
The world-class athletes that try to walk as little as possible.
An AI that plays tennis, but not in the way you think. (s/o Wes De Silvestro)
Lagniappe
Just sit and be at peace for the next five minutes. Everything will be waiting for you when you check back in.
Graph(s) of the week
[WSJ] Lots of foreclosures coming down the pipe as folks fall through the cracks of forbearance programs, unemployment payments, and economic relief stimulus. For the uninitiated: forbearance = mutually agreed to delaying payments; performing = payments happening on time; delinquent = missing payments.
[WSJ] Despite improvement, US is still at a worse place with daily cases than the EU has ever reached.
[Wikipedia] It is not a perfect science, but one way to think of SCOTUS ideological leanings is by a measure known as Martin–Quinn Scores. Below graphs each justice since 1935.
RIP RBG.

Your friend,
Harrison
